The Association of European Journalists Bulgaria (AEJ Bulgaria) is a non governmental legal entity founded in 2010 to defend ethical standards in journalism and to enhance the development of quality journalism in Bulgaria. To achieve its goals, the association provides educational opportunities, organizes meetings and produces publications.

MEMO 98 - Stakeholders

MEMO 98 conducts media monitoring and analyses, targeting the public and policy makers, on the role of media in the election processes. MEMO 98 monitoring activity is based on international standards concerning the media and the electoral process and democratic governance. Their mission is ensuring all citizens to have free access to comprehensive information. Their primary objective of MEMO 98's monitoring is to evaluate the range of political and social diversity in media reporting. 

The association has been working for 19 years in Slovakia and abroad. The most significant international projects carried out by MEMO 98 were conducted in the former Yugoslavia (2000), Belarus (2001, 2004, 2007 and 2008), Ukraine (2004, 2015-2016), Russia (2005-11, 2015), Azerbaijan (2008, 2013-2015), Myanmar (2010-11 and 2015-16), Serbia (2012-2014) and Georgia (2013-2015).

School of Communication and Media (SKAMBA) - Stakeholders

The School of Communication and Media, n.o. (SKAMBA) is a research establishment founded in Slovakia in 2008. SKAMBA´s mission is to provide high quality in-depth research on issues related to communication and media, as well as courses, seminars and lectures mainly related to the dissemination of research results.
It focuses particularly on the areas of mass media communication and the functions and interactions of the media in a liberal democracy.

It closely cooperates with the Slovak Section of the Association of European Journalists and took place to research projects such as MEDIADEM and ANTICORRP .

Plataforma en Defensa de la Libertad de Información (PDLI) - Stakeholders

Plataforma en Defensa de la Libertad de Información (PDLI) is a Spanish civil society group uniting journalists, lawyers, media houses, social movements and consumer advocates.

PDLI arouse out of the concern of a group of organisations and individuals in the legal field, journalism and social movements after the deterioration of freedom of expression and information in Spain, following a series of reforms and the approval of new laws, such as the Organic Law Project on the Protection of Citizen Security, the Intellectual Property Law, the Transparency Law.

Among the activities PDLI carries out, there is the monitoring and dissemination of attacks on freedom of expression against journalists and the media, as well as against activists, social movements and citizens. PDLI also support campaign in defense of media freedom and organise training programs for journalists, activists and social movements on how to safely exercise their profession.

PDLI launched mapea.cc, an online tool to collect data on legal threats to freedom of expression.

Mediacentar Sarajevo - Stakeholders

Mediacentar Sarajevo supports the development of independent and professional journalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Over time, activities have been expanded to include:

  • training programmes;
  • publishing;
  • media research;
  • PR training and consulting services;
  • AV production;
  • event management;

 An integral part of Mediacentar is Infobiro , an archive of print media from B-H and the former Yugoslavia and a library containing literature on mass media. Mediacentar also publish a regional journal on culture and literature called Sarajevske Sveske (Sarajevo Notebooks) . Mediacentar was founded by Open Society Fund of B-H in 1995 in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. In 2000 it was registered as a separate education and research institution owned by Open Society Fund of B-H.

Nordicom - Stakeholders

NORDICOM is a knowledge centre in the field of media and communication research, a cooperation between the five countries of the Nordic region - Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Starting from academic research, Nordicom collects and adapts knowledge, mediating it to various user groups in the Nordic region, Europe and elsewhere in the world.

Nordicom also manages the Ncom database , offering search in a collection of research, knowledge and useful resources in the field of Nordic media and communication research.
